Editorial review policy

Who can be reviewed

To appear on the comparison board, an operator must hold a current operating licence from the UK Gambling Commission and be live for UK customers at the time of review. Brands without a UK licence are not listed, even when readers ask for them.

How a review is built

1. Account opening. A test account is created using genuine details, where the brand allows it, so the registration journey is real.
2. Terms read in full. Welcome offers, wagering, eligible games, time windows and maximum stake clauses are read end-to-end.
3. Deposit and play. A small deposit is made via debit card. We sample slots, RNG tables and live dealer tables on desktop and mobile.
4. Withdrawal. We attempt a withdrawal of remaining funds and time the journey from request to bank.
5. Support. We open at least one live-chat conversation and one email ticket on a non-trivial question.
6. Safer play. We check that deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs and GAMSTOP are easy to find and easy to set.

What the score reflects

The single editorial score is an aggregate of the categories on our ratings explainer. It is rounded to one decimal place and capped at 9.5 — we do not award a perfect 10 to any commercial operator.

Conflicts of interest

Editorial staff do not hold equity in any of the operators reviewed on this site, and do not accept gifts, hospitality or paid travel from operators. Affiliate commercial conversations happen after the review is locked.

Corrections

If you see something out of date — a payment method that's been dropped, a withdrawal time that no longer holds, a clause that's changed — please tell us. We update the page, add a note about what changed, and keep the date of last review visible.

Things we will not do
